synopsis:
the ovalmaschine is designed to utilise freely available streaming software (the Real Player) in an online music-making device. The first attempts were browser crashing monsters (it almost destroyed a friends computer in Austria) but through a little experimentation we seem to have refined the mechanism.

what it does:
the ovalmaschine allows you to recompose arbitrary fragments of decomposed sound, folding and fusing live net.radio transmissions from around the world, into a personal audiophonic creation. By clicking on any of the buttons on the device you will be recalling live audio material from different locations including Austria, Australia, New Zealand, and Germany.

During the gallery launch of eQ, you will also be able to mix in live audio from Greg Peterkins Ephemera installation at the opening night.
